The 2018 Dacia Duster (New Renault Duster) is already on sale in the European markets. The new model is based on the existing MO platform, but receives several design changes and all-new cabin. Flanhax, YouTube user has published a comparison video of the new Duster and the old Duster.
Featuring an evolutionary design, the 2018 Dacia Duster looks more upmarket than the older model. In terms of design upgrades, the new Duster gets new sleeker headlamp with integrated LED daytime running lights, flat bonnet with sharp crease lines, bigger bumper with wider skid plates and squarish tail-lamps. The cabin is plain and functional and the plastic quality and fit and finish have been better than the previous model. The vehicle gets all-new dashboard, a higher placed infotainment system and more user friendly controls. The video claims that the upgraded soundproofing materials have improved the NVH (Noise Vibration Harshness), while the EPS has made driving more relaxed. The vehicle also gets several new safety and security features like Blind Spot Warning, speed limiter system, automatic headlight activation and multi-view camera. Dimensionally, the 2018 Dacia Duster is 4.34m in length, 1.80m in width and 1.6m in height, and has a wheelbase of 2.7m. The SUV offers a ground clearance of 210mm and has an approach, departure and breaker angle of 30°, 33° and 21° respectively.
The European-spec model is available with 4 engine options – SCe 115 petrol/petrol-LPG, TCe 125 petrol, dCi 90 diesel and dCi 110 diesel. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual and a 6-speed EDC dual-clutch automatic. In India, the new-gen Duster will be launched in 2019.
