India’s one of the most popular compact SUV – EcoSport is ready for its first mid-life facelift. While the new EcoSport will hit showrooms on 9th November, the official bookings will be commenced very soon. In order to clear stock of the outgoing model, dealers are offering massive discounts on the SUV. According to Business World, the dealerships in Delhi & NCR are offering hefty discounts up to Rs 1 lakh on the pre-facelift model.
While the discount rates will vary variant-wise, there will be minimal benefit of Rs 30,000 on any trim. For instance, certain dealers in Delhi & NCR are offering a discount of Rs 30,000 on the Trend trim and Rs 50,000 on the Trend+. Buyers can save up to Rs 70,000 – 1,00,000 on the range-topping Titanium variant. Currently, the EcoSport is available in six grades – Ambiente, Trend, Trend+. Titanium, Titanium (AT) and Titanium+. 2017 EcoSport Petrol Engine Review
A dealership source told the business publication: “Our customers are asking us the booking dates for the new EcoSport which is expected soon. However, there is a lot of unsold inventory of the outgoing version. Therefore, we are enticing our customers by offering huge discounts and freebies on what is available with us. As a stock clearing exercise, any customer walking into our dealerships is assured of a Rs. 30,000 discount on the MRP. For 2017 model year, the Ford EcoSport will receive comprehensive cosmetic upgrades inside and out. Exterior styling will be revised with new single-piece hexagonal front grille, re-designed front bumper and headlamps with projector units, new fog lamps, LED taillamps and new tailgate mounted spare wheel cover. Inside, the major update will come in the form of a new SYNC 3 infotainment system supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, navigation, voice recognition and applications. Other key features will include revised dashboard with new centre console design, 8-inch floating touchscreen, reverse parking camera, a speed limiter function, automatic climate control, etc.
The EcoSport will ditch the existing 1.5L four-cylinder petrol engine for the all-new 1.5-litre, three-cylinder Ti-VCT petrol motor. The new powertrain is lighter and more fuel efficient than its replacement. Ford claims that the EcoSport’s new 1.5L gasoline unit delivers faster throttle response and 7% better fuel economy. The new EcoSport petrol will deliver a maximum power of 121.3bhp at 6,500rpm and 150Nm of torque at 4,500rpm. The compact SUV will also continue to use the 1.0-litre EcoBoost petrol and 1.5-litre RDCI diesel engines. Transmission duties will be performed by a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed powershift dual-cutch gearbox.
