Skoda Octavia RS India Launch On September 1, 2017

The new Octavia RS will be Skoda’s most powerful car in the Indian market.

Skoda India will introduce the much-awaited Octavia RS performance sedan on September 1, 2017. The Czech Republic carmaker was supposed to launch the saloon today (30th August), but due to heavy rains in Mumbai the company pushed it for coming 1st September. Dealers have commenced taking pre-orders for the vehicle across the country.

Just so you know, the company announced its plan to launch three new products in the Indian market. While the Rapid Monte Carlo arrived at showrooms on August 22, the Octavia RS and Kodiaq SUV are due for coming months.

The new Octavia RS will be Skoda’s most powerful car in the Indian market. Under the hood, the performance sedan features a 2.0 TSI turbo-petrol engine producing 230bhp and 350Nm. The diesel motor is a 2.0-litre TDI unit making 184bhp and 380Nm of torque. Read More About – Skoda Karoq Compact SUV

For performing the transmission duties, the car gets a 6-speed DSG transmission. While the front-wheel-drive (FWD) system is standard across the carline, the all-wheel-drive (AWD) system is available only on the diesel model.

Visually, the Octavia RS appears sportier than the standard model. Some of the key design elements include a black radiator grille with chrome surround and vRS badging, re-designed front bumper with wider air dam, adaptive LED headlamps, larger alloys, LED tail lamps and a new black diffuser.

Inside, the car gets all-black sporty theme with new RS-Sport seats, ‘RS’ badges on headrests, gear knob, door sills and steering wheel and multiple driver assistance features. The car also features a 9.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, MirrorLink system.
