November 2018’s 5 Best Selling Sedans; Dzire, Amaze Continue to Dominate

Maruti Suzuki Dzire outsold Honda Amaze with a huge margin of 16,183 units.

Maruti Suzuki has been dominating most of the segment in the Indian market, whether it’s compact sedan (Dzire), mid-size sedan (Ciaz) or compact SUV (Vitara Brezza). In November 2018, however, the Indo-Japanese carmaker witnessed a marginal sales drop by 0.7%. The company registered cumulative sales of 153,539 units as opposed to 154,600 units of the same month last year. Though, the company’s domestic sales went up by 0.5%. In the compact sedan space, Maruti Suzuki’s Dzire retains the top spot with total sales of 21,037 units. In fact, the company retailed the compact sedan with an average of 22,767 units between April-November, 2018. It has outsold its arch rival – Honda Amaze – with a huge margin of 16,183 units. Hyundai’s Xcent stood at third position, registering total sales of 2,495 units. The fourth and fifth spots are grabbed by the Tata Tigor and the Toyota Etios respectively. The compact sedan segment witnessed a decline by 0.1 per cent in November 2018 as against November 2017. Save for the Maruti Dzire and Honda Amaze, the other cars in this space including Hyundai Xcent, Tata Tigor, Toyota Etios and Ford Aspire do not show any positive growth.
