Nissan X-Trail India Testing Begins – Toyota Fortuner Fighter

The Nissan X-Trail was recently showcased in India alongside the Qashqai and Juke SUVs. Now, the company has started testing the X-Trail and Qashqai SUVs in the country. Both models, which are being evaluated as low-volume CBU (Completely Built Up) imports, will be Nissan’s first e-Power hybrid vehicles in India. In global markets, the X-Trail has been offered with the 1.5L turbo petrol mild hybrid tech and 1.5L strong hybrid powertrains.

The SUV’s mild hybrid setup can be had with the 2WD system. Its power and torque figures stand at 163PS and 300Nm respectively. It can do 0 to 100kmph in 9.6 seconds and offers a maximum speed of 200kmph. The 1.5L turbo with e-Power strong hybrid, on the other hand, comes with 2WD and AWD drivetrain system options.

The setup returns a claimed power of 204PS with 300Nm (2WD) and 213PS with up to 525Nm (AWD). The e-Power tech with 2WD and AWD accelerate 0 to 100kmph in 8 seconds and 7 seconds respectively. While the former promises a top speed of 170kmph, the latter can attain a maximum speed of 180kmph.

The upcoming Nissan X-Trail SUV measures 4680mm in length, 2065mm in width and 1725mm in height with a wheelbase of 2750mm. It has a ground clearance of 205mm. It comes with 5 and 7-seats configurations. The SUV’s second row seats have split ratio of 40:20:40 and the third row seats come with split ratio of 50:50.

Feature-wise, the new Nissan SUV offers a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10.8-inch Head-Up Display (HUD), a 360 degree camera, electronic parking brake, tri-zone climate control, LED headlamps and an electric tailgate. The X-Trail also comes with ADAS (advanced driver assistance system) offering safety features such as front collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind spot detection and adaptive cruise control.
