Nissan X-Trail (Fortuner Rival) – Strong Hybrid, ADAS, 5/7-Seats

Nissan India recently showcased the latest versions of its three global SUVs, namely, X-Trail, Juke and Qashqai. The company has confirmed that it will soon begin market feasibility study and testing of the X-Trail and Qashqai. All new Nissan SUVs will come via CBU (Completely Built Up) route and feature the brand’s e-Power hybrid technology. The Nissan X-Trail will be the first one to witness the market launch in India, followed by the Qashqai. However, the official launch timeline of both SUVs is yet to be revealed.

Here’re all key details of the upcoming Nissan X-Trail SUV.

Globally, the new X-Trail is being offered with 1.5L turbo petrol mild hybrid and strong hybrid powertrain options. The former comes with the 2WD system and offers a claimed power of 163PS and 300Nm of torque. It can accelerate from 0 to 100kmph in 9.6 seconds and attain a top speed of 200kmph.

The 1.5L turbo with e-Power strong hybrid version can be had with either 2WD or AWD drivetrain system delivering power 204PS with 300Nm and 213PS with up to 525Nm respectively.

The e-Power 2WD and AWD variants sprint 0-100kmph in 8 seconds and 7 seconds respectively. While the former offers a maximum speed of 170kmph, the latter has an electronic speed limit of 180kmph.

The overall length, width and height of the Nissan X-Trail stand at 4680mm, 2065mm and 1725mm respectively. It has a wheelbase of 2705mm and a ground clearance of 205mm.

Here, the SUV could be offered with both 5 and 7-seats configurations. The second and third row seats have 40:20:40 and 50:50 split ratio.

Nissan X-Trail India

One of the major highlights of the X-Trail is the ADAS (advanced driver assistance system) suite. It offers safety features such as automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, blind spot detection and front collision warning.

The SUV has also been packed with features such as a 360 degree camera, a 10.8-inch Head-Up Display (HUD) unit, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with the latest smartphone connectivity, tri-zone climate control, electronic parking brake, an electric tailgate and LED headlamps.
