The biggest change made to the SUV is the new 156bhp, 1.3L, 4-cylinder turbo petrol engine with dual variable timing system. The new powertrain not only makes the new Kicks India’s most powerful petrol compact SUV, but higher torque at lower rpm and lower its emission levels as well.
The new gasoline motor comes with a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed CVT automatic gearbox option. Compared to the existing CVTs, Kicks’s new X-tronic CVT unit is claimed to be 40% more efficient. The compact SUV is also available with the BS6-compliant 1.5L petrol engine that’s good for 106bhp and 142Nm. It can be had with a 5-speed manual gearbox only.
