Nissan Terrano AWD India launch in 2015

Nissan Terrano Anniversary Edition

Nissan India is aiming to add more variants to the Terrano SUV lineup to offer more options to perspective SUV buyers in the country. It was reported that the Japanese automaker is contemplating an automatic variant of the SUV; however, recent reports suggest that the company will launch the AWD variant of the Terrano. It will compete against the likes of Mahindra Scorpio, Mahindra XUV500 and Renault Duster.

Nissan India Operation’s President Mr. Guillaume Sicard told Rushlane that the Nissan Terrano AWD model is slated to launch in the Indian car market next year. Just like the Renault Duster AWD, the Nissan Terrano will also feature the same i-Drive Tech Shift-on-the-fly 4×4 system that offers three driving modes- 2WD, Auto and AWD.

The AWD variant of the SUV also comes equipped with features like Electronic Torque Control, ASR (Anti-Slip Regulation), ESP (Electronic Stability Programme) and Hill Start Assist. It is also expected to be offered on the top-spec model. Under the bonnet is the 1.5-litre K9K diesel engine that is capable of producing 110PS of power and 248Nm of torque, and is coupled to a six-speed manual transmission gearbox.

Nissan India has recently introduced the anniversary edition of the Terrano SUV to mark 1 year in the country. Two special editions of the SUV have been launched, equipped with additional features like Head-up display, contrasting black roof, limited edition badging, bonnet stripes, etc.
