This new Nissan Terra 7-seater model is likely to be showcased at the 2018 GIIAS, which is scheduled to commence on August 2, 2018.

Japanese automaker, Nissan had unveiled the new Terra 7-seater SUV for the South East Asian markets in April 2018. The vehicle is already on sale in China and Philippines, and will soon go on sale in the Indonesian market. The 7-seater SUV in right-hand-drive configuration has been spotted on Indonesian roads. This updated model is likely to be showcased at the 2018 GIIAS, which is scheduled to commence on August 2, 2018. The launch is likely to take place in the market this fiscal year.

The new Nissan Terra SUV is based on the third generation Navara. This 3-row 7-seat SUV is built on the body-on-frame chassis and will challenge the likes of Ford Endeavour, Toyota Fortuner, Isuzu MU-X and Misubishi Pajero Sport. In terms of dimensions, the Nissan Terra is 4.9 meters in length, 1.9 meters in width, 1.8 meters in height and has a wheelbase of 2.9 meters. The SUV comes with a ground clearance of 225mm. In terms of styling, the Nissan Terra shares styling cues from the Navara pickup. It features LED headlamps with LED DRLs, a larger V-Motion grille and revised bumper. Other design highlights include pronounced wheel arches, black plastic cladding, unique tail-lamp and chrome treatment. Inside the cabin, the SUV gets a dual-zone automatic climate control, leather seats, 8-way adjustable driver’s seat, and infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto Support. Nissan Terra RHD Spied

Powering the new Nissan Terra SUV is the new YD25 2.5-litre diesel engine that churns out 188bhp of power at 3,600rpm and 450Nm of torque at 2,000rpm. Chinese-spec model gets a 2.5-litre petrol engine producing 182bhp at 6,000rpm and 251Nm of torque at 4,000rpm. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed automatic unit.

Recently, Nissan Motor announced that all the affordable cars priced under 10 lakhs will be sold under Datsun brand. Nissan will play premium in the market and will soon launch the Kicks 5-seater SUV to challenge Hyundai Creta. The company is planning to launch the X-Trail SUV in India, but the launch is still on hold. Keeping growing demand for 7-seater premium SUVs, Nissan could consider the rugged looking Terra SUV for the Indian market.
