Nissan Announces Price Hike On Entire Range From April 2018

Nissan India has announced its plan to increase prices of all its models up to 2 per cent. The new prices will be effective from April 1, 2018. Nissan’s low-cost brand, Datsun will also see a price hike across its product lineup. The price hike will vary variant-wise. The reason for this decision is cited to be increased input and manufacturing costs. Recently, Tata Motors have also announced a price hike.

Nissan Motor India – Managing Director, Jerome Saigot said, “Due to rising input costs, we will be increasing the price of our Nissan and Datsun cars with effect from 1st April, 2018. Nissan’s Indian product lineup include five models – Micra hatchback, Micra Active, Sunny sedan, Terrano compact SUV and GT-R sports car. Prices of the Micra Active and the Micra hatchback start from Rs 4.64 lakh and Rs 5.99 lakh respectively. While the Nissan Sunny sedan comes with a starting price tag of Rs 6.99 lakh, the Terrano SUV is available at Rs 9.99 lakh. The company’s flagship supercar – GT-R – has been priced at Rs 2.12 crore. Talking about Nissan’s future plan, the Japanese carmaker aims to expand its electric product lineup in India. The company will bring in its globally popular – Leaf hatchback, and the all-new Nissan e-Note. With an aim to tap the growing premium compact SUV segment, the carmaker will introduce the Kicks in 2018.
