Nissan Magnite, the upcoming sub-4 meter SUV from the Japanese carmaker, was recently unveiled in its concept avatar via official rendering videos. The model is slated to arrive in the Indian market in fiscal year 2020. Ahead of its official launch, the first spy picture of Nissan’s new compact SUV has surfaced on the web.
The front end looks exactly similar to the concept featuring an octagonal grille with chrome surroundings. The front bumper with L-shaped chrome inserts, a sliver skid plate and halogen headlamps hint that the spotted model was the lower variant.
The production-ready version of the Magnite is likely to carry crossover-ish stance with sloping A and C pillars. Design bits such as sculpted bonnet, pronounced wheel arches with chunky cladding, contrast roof, chromed door handles, LED headlamps, rear bumper with brushed silver elements and a scuff plate are likely to be retained from the concept. Interior of the Nissan Magnite is yet to be revealed by the carmaker. Though, the company has confirmed that the compact SUV will be packed with several advanced features including an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 360 degree camera, connected car features and cruise control. The list might also include steering mounted controls, automatic climate control, and more.
The upcoming Nissan compact SUV can be had either with a 1.0L naturally aspirated, 3-cylinder petrol engine or a 1.0L, 3-cylinder turbo petrol motor. While the former pushes out a peak power of 72bhp, the latter delivers power close to 95bhp. Both manual and CVT automatic gearboxes will be on offer. While its entry-level variants will take directly on the upcoming Renault Kiger, its top-end variants will be placed against the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and Hyundai Venue.
