Nissan Magnite Compact SUV Teased

The Japanese carmaker will soon launch the all-new Nissan Magnite compact SUV in the Indian market. We have already seen a couple of teaser pictures revealing its exterior design details. Designed from the ground-up, the new Nissan compact SUV will underpin the Renault-Nissan Alliance CMF-A+ platform. Dimensionally, it will be similar to the Maruti Vitara Brezza. It will carry crossover-ish stance along with sleek headlamps and taillamps, front and rear scuff plates, sharp body creases, flared wheel arches and dual-tone paint scheme.

Interior of the Nissan Magnite will be packed with lots of goodies. Similar to the Kicks, the new compact SUV will come with NissanConnect connected car technology offering more than 50 features. There will be a large touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity and a 360-degree camera. The latter one, however, will be reserved for the top-end variant. Similarly, the premium alloy wheels and dual-tone colour will be exclusively offered on higher trims. Read – Nissan Patrol SUV Might Come To India

The entry-level variant of the SUV will be powered by a new 1.0L, 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine with a 5-speed manual and an AMT gearbox option. The same powertrain will soon be introduced on the Renault Triber MPV lineup. The new naturally aspirated gasoline motor pushes out a peak power of 72bhp against 96Nm of torque.

Powering the higher trims will be Nissan’s state-of-the-art 1.0L, 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine. The HR10 unit generates a maximum power of 95bhp and can be had either with a 5-speed manual gearbox or a CVT automatic unit. Read – 2020 Nissan Kicks Facelift To Get e-Power Tech

Nissan Magnite is likely to be priced quite competitively. Its range-topping CVT automatic variant is expected to be priced below 6 lakh (ex-showroom). The carmaker is planning to launch its all-new compact SUV in August; however, it could be delayed due to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis. If it gets delayed, the Magnite might hit showrooms during 2020 festive season.
