The long-awaited Nissan Kicks compact SUV will officially go on sale in January 2019. Ahead of the launch, Nissan has released a teaser based on its unveiling in India. The teaser reveals the exterior design highlights of the Kicks SUV.
The Nissan Kicks rides on 17-inch 5-spoke alloy wheels. It comes equipped with electric retractable outside rear view mirrors, wing mirrors with LED turn indicators, signature V-Motion front grille, LED projector headlamps with LED daytime running lights and a high ground clearance. The Nissan Kicks will be equipped with segment first 360 degree camera and semi-digital instrument cluster with integrated GPS navigation on the cluster. The 360-degree camera offered in the SUV can be switched on/off as per the requirement. The cameras are positioned on the front, rear and on wing mirrors. It also gets telematics-enabled smartwatch. In terms of safety, the SUV has dual-front airbags, ABS with EBD, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), ISOFIX mounts and reverse parking camera and sensors, and hill-hold assist. While the global model is based on the Nissan’s V-platform, the India-spec model uses the heavily-localised Duster’s MO platform. The SUV will be offered with 2 engine options – 1.5-litre K9K diesel and 1.5-litre petrol. While the former is good for 108bhp and 240Nm of torque, the gasoline unit produces 105bhp and 142Nm of torque. Transmission options include 6-speed manual, 5-speed manual and a CVT automatic.
