Nissan Kicks SUV Coming Tomorrow – What All It Has Offer!

Nissan Kicks India

Nissan Kicks for India will be bigger and premium than the global-spec model.

The long-awaited Nissan Kicks compact SUV will officially made its India debut tomorrow. What’s interesting is that the India-spec model is different from global model in terms of size, platform and engine specs. The SUV will go on sale in India in the first quarter of 2019, while bookings could start from tomorrow onwards.

While the global Kicks is based on the Nissan’s V-platform, the India-spec model will use the heavily localised Renault’s MO platform. This platform also underpins the Terrano, Duster and the Captur. It is expected to replace the Terrano in the brand’s line-up and will take on the likes of Hyundai Creta, Renault Captur and others in its category.

While the platform is different, the India-spec model shares design from the model sold in international markets. It will be bigger in terms of dimensions than the model currently on sale abroad. While the international model sits just under 4.3 meters, the India-spec Kicks is expected to measure around 4.4 meters in length. The new model will have a longer wheelbase to create more space inside the cabin. Additionally, the SUV will offer more luggage space than the global model rated at 432-litres. Nissan Kicks will be premium and feature loaded than the Terrano. It will get a 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support, automatic climate control, rear AC vents, leather seats, electrically adjustable driver’s seat, etc. The SUV will share mechanics with the Captur SUV. Engine options will include a 108bhp, 1.5-litre K9K diesel and a 104bhp, 1.5-litre petrol. Both manual and automatic versions will be on offer.
