Nissan Terrano SUV unveiled; bookings to start from September 1

Nissan Terrano

Nissan India has finally unveiled the Terrano SUV in India. The vehicle is based on the Renault Duster platform and shares most of the parts. It will directly compete against the likes of Ford EcoSport and Renault Duster.

Nissan Terrano will be powered by the same 1.5-litre K9k diesel engine and 1.6-litre petrol engine.  The front end of the Terrano has received the noticeable changes such as revised bumper, honecomb design, new headlamps and a big Nissan badge. More interestingly, the front fascia of the Terrano resembles the company’s very famous SUV X-Trail. The rear of the vehicle also has some sheet metal changes, a split rear light arrangement, and few others. More darkened pillars and all-new alloy wheels are also added to give more rugged look.

Kenichiro Yomura, president, Nissan India operations, said, “The Terrano marks our entry into the compact SUV segment, which is one of the fastest growing segments in the Indian market today. It follows the same design language as our Pathfinder and patrols SUVs and makes a strong statement, which is a key differentiator in this segment. We are confident that the Terrano SUV will appeal both to existing real SUV lovers and consumers looking to graduate to SUVs.”

The bookings for the Nissan Terrano SUV will start from September 1 and it will be priced under Rs. 10 lakh.
