Nissan Kicks Exterior

The Nissan Kicks was designed under the alliance of Nissan Design America (NDA) San Diego, California and Nissan Design America (NDA-R) – the company’s Brazil-based design studio satellite, especially for the emerging markets. The entire concept design project was led by Nissan’s Global Design Centre in Japan. The SUV for India is different from the global unit; however, styling for both models remains largely identical. Unlike the global-spec Kicks that has been developed on the Nissan’s V-platform, the SUV for India is based on the low-cost Renault’s MO platform that also underpins the Nissan Terrano.

Nissan claims that the body of the Kicks is designed and built with GRAPHENE (Gravity-PhilicEnergy Absorption) Body Structure. This structure has inherent capabilities to absorb impact energy making the new Nissan Kicks stronger, safer and durable on Indian roads. Sporting bold stance, the face of the SUV looks aggressive and sporty. Upfront, the car gets signature V-motion grille with different honeycomb mesh design and wider ends than the global model. The SUV also features unique boomerang shaped projector headlights with LED and daytime running lamps and bold bumper with rectangular fog lamp housing. Read – Nissan Patrol, Pathfinder & Terra SUVs To Launch In India

The design of the front fascia follows Nissan’s family crossover styling theme, which is offered on X-Trail. The car has a floating roof created by blacked-out pillars with stylish roof rails and shark fin antenna. Accentuating the side profile are the prominent character lines, flared wheel arches with body cladding, large 17-inch 5-spoke machine-cut alloy wheels, dual-tone floating roof, roof rails with orange finish and blacked out pillars. The outside rear view mirrors integrated with turn indicators are mounted on doors. In-line with global model, the Kicks for India features the conventional SUV traits such as a high ground clearance, muscular rear bumper and ‘boomerang’ tail lamps.

Dimensions

Compared to the Brazilian model, the India-spec Nissan Kicks is longer, wider and taller than the global model. It is around 89mm longer, 53mm wider and 66mm taller than the Brazilian-spec unit. In fact, the wheelbase of the SUV has been increased by 63mm to 2673mm, which liberates more cabin space and boot capacity. The overall length, width and height of the SUV stand at 4,384mm, 1,813mm, and 1,656mm respectively. It rides on a large wheelbase of 2,673mm, while the ground clearance stands at 200mm. Check Out – Nissan Terra 7-Seater SUV Pictures & Details
