Nissan Sunny facelift

Nissan India is expected to launch the Sunny sedan facelift by the mid-2014 in the country. First launched in 2011, the Sunny sedan was an instant hit in the market. However, the introduction of new products affected its sales. Unveiled at the 2014 Delhi Motor Show, the facelifted Sunny has received a number of external as well internal tweaks, making it look refreshing.

The front fascia of the new Sunny is equipped with new grille surrounded by chrome which is complemented by large headlamps. The all-new front bumper features new fog lamp assembly with chrome inserts. The side profile gets electrically adjustable ORVMs with integrated turn indicators while its flared wheel arches have been fitted to newly designed alloy wheels. The rear profile looks identical to the current model; however, the lower bumper has black plastic insert.

It is expected that the Nissan Sunny facelift could get ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) with EBD (Electronic Brake-Force Distribution) and brake assist as standard features. The top spec models are likely to get additional side airbags and updated music system with Bluetooth and USB connectivity. The centre console now offers in a Piano black colour.

Under the hood, the new Sunny will get the same 1.5-litre petrol engine producing 98PS and the 1.5-litre K9K diesel engine that produces 85PS. The manual and XTRONIC CVT are there too. The new Sunny will face a stiff competition from the likes of new Honda City, Hyundai Verna and soon to be launched Ford Fiesta facelift.
