Tata Motors, the homegrown automaker has introduced several new exciting new cars in the past 3-4 years. The new breed of Tata cars looks impressive, thanks to the brand’s new IMPACT 2.0 DESIGN Language. The company had several popular and iconic cars including Sumo, Sierra and Safari. At the 2020 Auto Expo, Tata had showcased the Sierra EV concept. Tata could introduce the production version of the Sierra in the near future as the premium lifestyle SUV. Similar to the lifestyle SUV, Tata could bring back the iconic Tata Sumo in the future.

Here is a new rendering of the future Tata Sumo by Vipin Vithoopan. The digitally imagined SUV features Tata’s future design language with design inspiration comes from the Land Rover Defender 110. The production version of the Tata Sumo won’t look like this as the rendering is a result of pure imagination.

The new Tata Sumo rendering features the Range Rover inspired from grille and multiple LED lamps in the headlight setup. There is a sleek LED DRLs on the top, while the dual-tone bumper has silver accents and black treatment. The front design retains the boxy, straight-line design.

The Tata Sumo is not on sale in the market. The SUV was in production close to 3 decades and was popular among rural and semi-urban markets as well as hilly areas of the country. The homegrown automaker is currently working on a wide range of new cars that will be launched in the next 3-4 years. The company will introduce the Gravitas 7-seater SUV during festive season 2020, which will be followed by the HBX concept based micro SUV in early 2021.
