Next-gen Renault Duster: What To Expect?

The design of the next-gen Renault Duster has been patented in India, which suggests that the SUV could be introduced in our market. Previous media reports claim that the next-gen Renault Duster India launch is not confirmed.

The second generation Renault Duster is on sale in international markets since 2017. This SUV never made its way to our market. Instead, Renault introduced the upgraded version of the first generation Duster in 2019. It was speculated that the 3rd generation Renault Duster will be launched in India; however, Renault is yet to make an official announcement on the same.

New Renault Duster 2022

– International media reports that the next-gen Renault Duster will be based on Renault-Nissan Alliance’s CMF-B platform, which will also underpin the next-gen Nissan Kicks.

– The third-gen Renault Duster SUV is expected to be introduced by 2022-23. It will be positioned against the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and the upcoming SUVs like VW Taigun, Skoda Kushaq and MG Astor.

– The next-gen Renault Duster could be inspired by the Dacia’s Bigster Concept, which is also designed and developed on the Renault-Nissan Alliance’s CMF-B platform.

– It will also join the current trend, as Renault is also developing a 7-seater SUV to be positioned above the 5-seater Duster. The next-gen Duster is also expected to be offered in two versions – 5-seater and 7-seater. The 7-seater model will rival the Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus and the Hyundai Alcazar.

Dacia Bigster Duster

– The Dacia’s Bigster design highlights include uniquely designed Y-shaped headlamps, LED lighting system, a flat roof line, prominent wheel arches, muscular haunches, black plastic cladding, etc.

– The next-gen Duster is expected to receive a vastly improved cabin, as the current model has outdated interior. The SUV is likely to come equipped with features like a large touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, leather seats, cruise control, digital instrument console, rear AC vents and others.
