Next-Gen Hyundai Creta To Come With 7-Seats & New Diesel Engine

Hyundai Creta 2020

The next-gen Hyundai Creta will get a newly developed 1.5-litre diesel engine

We informed you Hyundai has started working on the next-gen Creta SUV, which will be launched in the second half of 2020. The new model will be offered in two seating layouts – 5 and 7. This means that the next Creta will grow in size and will be expensive. What’s interesting is that the next-gen Tucson for India will be a 7-seater SUV. The Creta’s 7-seater model will be positioned somewhere around current Tucson. On the flip side, the next-gen Tucson will grow in size and will challenge the likes of Skoda Kodiaq and Honda CR-V.

The next-gen Hyundai Creta will get new petrol and turbocharged diesel engines, which will be compatible with BS6 emission norms. The SUV will get a new 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel engine, which will also power the Verna facelift and the Hyundai’s sub-4 meter SUV. Media reports claim that this engine will first debut on Kia Tusker, a compact SUV based on the SP Concept.

The report further claims that this engine will offer slightly less power than the current 1.6-litre engine, but it will be more fuel efficient. Moreover, the next Creta will be compatible enough to accommodate hybrid and all-electric powertrains. Also See – 7-Seater SUVs In The Works

Come early next year, Hyundai will launch the Carlino based sub-4 meter SUV and its first electric car – Kona – for Indian market.
