Ford will introduce the next generation Ranger in 2022. If media reports are to be believed, the company will also introduce the new Everest (also known as Endeavour in India) around the same time as the new Ranger. The next-gen Ford Endeavour will come with new engine options along with new design and interior.
New Engine Options
The report claims that the 2022 Ford Endeavour and Ranger will be offered with 3 engine options – two diesel and a new petrol plug-in hybrid. The 3.2-litre 5-cylinder engine, which was offered with the pre-facelift Endeavour in India, will be discontinued. The new Endeavour will also receive a new off-road focused Wildtrack X variant.
The next-gen Ford Endeavour will be offered with a 2.0-litre twin-turbocharged 4-cylinder diesel engine that produces 210bhp of power and 500Nm of torque. There will be a new 3.0-litre turbocharged 6-cylinder diesel engine in the top-spec model. This engine will offer 250bhp of power and 600Nm of torque. The 6-cylinder diesel engine is currently offered in the American-spec Ford F-150.
The new Endeavour and Ranger will also receive a 2.3-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder petrol engine with a plug-in hybrid system. It is reportedly to produce around 270bhp of power and 680Nm of torque.
Next-gen Ford Endeavour – 6 Variants
The report claims that the next-gen Ford Everest or Endeavour will be offered in 6 trim levels and a mix of two-and 4-wheel drive models. The 6 trim levels are – Ambiente, Trend, Trend Sport, Wildtrak X, Titanium and Platinum.
The Ambiente variant will be available with 4×2 and optional 4×4 system, and with a 2.0L turbo-diesel engine as standard. Plug-in hybrid unit will come as optional. It will be offered as a 7-seater SUV. The Trend variant also shares the mechanics with the Ambiente variant.
The Trend Sport variant is reportedly to be offered with 4×4 system only. A 2.0L 4-cylinder turbo-diesel engine will come as standard, while the 3.0L V6 and 2.3L petrol with plug-in hybrid will come as optional. This model will have leather seats and an upgraded infotainment system.
The off-road specific Wildtrak X variant will come with a 3.0L V6 turbo-diesel engine as standard. This variant will have Ranger Raptor-like grille and equipments, and leather/fabric mix seat material, etc. It is reportedly to feature Bilstein shock absorbers, BF Goodrick all-terrain tyres and rock sliders along the sides of the car.
The next-gen Ford Endeavour Titanium and Platinum variants will come with 4×4 system and 3.0L diesel engine. The Platinum model will get Plug-in hybrid engine as standard. The Titanium variant will receive leather seats, high-end infotainment system and electric actuation for third row of seats. The Platinum variant will get High-end Windsor leather seats and leather touches all-around the body.
Bigger, Advanced Touchscreen Infotainment
The new Ford Endeavour/Everest is expected to be equipped with the brand’s SYNC4 infotainment system with a new 12.8-inch vertical infotainment screen. It will also receive a new 10.25-inch digital instrument console. The infotainment system will be compatible with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with remote connectivity. The vehicle will also receive connected car technology.
Next-gen Ford Endeavour India Launch
The next-gen Ford Endeavour is expected to be released in the second half of 2022 in global markets. It is expected to be launched in the Indian market in the late 2022 or early 2023.
