Next-Gen 2019 Hyundai Grand i10 Spotted For The First Time

New Hyundai Santro 2018

Similar to the upcoming Hyundai Santro AH2 small car, the next-generation Hyundai Grand i10 will come with an AMT gearbox option

We informed you earlier that Hyundai is working on the next-generation Grand i10, Creta, Elite i20 and Xcent compact sedan, which will be launched in India by 2020. The company will soon launch the Hyundai AH2 (new Santro) in October, around Diwali 2018. For people not in the know, the Grand i10 is also available in international markets with only i10 badge. The model was spotted testing in Korea, which indicates that the company is testing the next-gen i10 for global markets.

The second generation Hyundai i10 was launched in August 2013, and is already 6 years old. The third generation i10 is scheduled to be launched in late 2019 or early 2020. The India-spec Grand i10 comes with a 40mm longer wheelbase and is around 100mm longer than the international market, which makes it more spacious.  Interestingly, the spotted model looks longer and seems riding on a longer wheelbase than the current model available in the international markets. It is expected that the next i10 will have similar wheelbase and dimensions for the global as well as the Indian market. Instead of i10, the international-spec model could also be called the Grand i10. Also See – Upcoming Hyundai Cars In India

If media reports are to be believed, the 2019 Hyundai i10 will share design cues from the upcoming Hyundai Elantra facelift which has already been spotted multiple times on foreign soil. It is likely to get the signature hexagonal grille and wider headlights and tail-lights. The cabin will also receive several changes in the form of new features and dashboard design. The vehicle will continue to offer touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, rear AC vents and others. The soon-to-be-launched AH2 small car will be Hyundai’s first model to feature AMT gearbox. It is expected that this technology will also be offered on the next-gen Grand i10. It is expected that the AMT unit will be offered on both petrol and diesel guise. The small car will rival the Maruti Suzuki Swift.
