Swedish Luxury car manufacturer Volvo is planning to improve its market share in the growing Indian market. Known for making reliable and safest cars in its league; Volvo cars India failed to attract buyers due to the lack of sales and service network in the country. Now, the company is set to launch the new S60 R-Design variant in the Indian car market. The new model features a more modern 2.0-litre 4-cylinder engine, which will replace the aging 163bhp, D4 five-cylinder engine. The new Volvo S60 R-Design will be priced at Rs. 39.36 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Under the hood, the Volvo S60 R-Design gets the new age 2.0-litre four-pot diesel motor. This R-Design’s 4-cylinder diesel engine is capable of producing a top power output of 181bhp and a peak torque of 400Nm. The engine is paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission gearbox. This powerful diesel engine is claimed to return an impressive fuel economy of 25kmpl. The presence of ‘i-Art’ technology and new automatic gearbox plays an important role in its high fuel economy. This technology monitors the procedure at every fuel injector and adjusts the pressure for every combustion cycle.
The new Volvo S60 R-Design variant also gets subtle changes to both exteriors and interiors. The vehicle now features a newly designed front bumper, new honeycomb lower grille and R-design badges. Its flared wheel arches have been fitted to new bespoke five-spoke 18-inch wheels. A prominent diffuser and twin circular chrome exhaust tips add to its styling. The interiors of the sedan are blessed with sportier front seats, 10GB internal storage for the music and satellite navigation system.
