Tata Motors is getting aggressive with its product strategy for the fast growing Indian market. In the recent past, the company has introduced the revised versions of the Nexon, Harrier & Safari. Adding to it, Tata Motors new breed of cars are receiving excellent response from car buyers. The company is currently the third largest carmaker, and is closing in on the gap with Hyundai for the second spot. Tata Motors is also ruling the electric vehicle segment with close to 70 percent market share. Here, we bring you a sneak peek of upcoming Tata cars that will be launched in the next 2-3 years.

1. Tata Curvv (EV & ICE)

Tata Motors has confirmed that the long-awaited Curvv SUV Coupe will go on sale in mid-2024. It will be offered with an electric & internal combustion engine. The Curvv EV will first go on sale in mid-2024, while the ICE version will towards the fag end of this year (during Diwali festive season). The Tata Curvv ICE version will be offered with two powertrain options – a 125PS, 1.2-litre 3-cylinder turbo petrol and a 115bhp, 1.5-litre 4-cylinder turbo diesel. Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual, an AMT and a 7-speed DCT (petrol only). The company could also offer the CNG version of the Curvv SUV Coupe.

Tata Motors is yet to reveal the battery pack and electric motor details of the Curvv EV. It is likely to be packed with a bigger battery pack compared to the Nexon EV. The electric SUV Coupe is likely to offer a range of up to 500km on a single charge. It will be based on the Acti-ev platform that also underpins the Punch EV.

The interiors of the SUV shares similarities with the new Nexon EV and the Harrier facelift. It will have two 10.25-inch screens for the instrument console and touchscreen infotainment system. It will come with wireless phone charging, wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay, a 360-degree camera, ventilated front seats, connected car tech, an electronic sunroof, Heads-Up Display (HUD), etc. The SUV will also come with ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) technology with features like autonomous emergency braking, lane assist, adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring and others. 2. Tata Nexon CNG

The next model in our list of upcoming Tata cars is the Nexon CNG, which was showcased to the public at the 2024 Bharat Mobility Show in Delhi. The Tata Nexon CNG will be the first turbo-petrol CNG car in the segment, and will challenge the Maruti Brezza CNG. It is likely to be launched in the country during the festive season before Diwali. The overall styling is identical to the conventional petrol & diesel Nexon. It will come with a single ECU for quick shift between CNG to petrol model. It can start directly in CNG mode and has an auto switch between fuels function.

The Tata Nexon CNG will be powered by the 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine combined with Tata’s innovative twin CNG cylinder technology. The company has not revealed the power and torque figures along with fuel efficiency numbers. The two CNG cylinder tanks are placed under the boot floor, which ensures no damage to boot space. 3. Tata Altroz Racer

Tata Motors had showcased the Altroz Racer at the Bharat Mobility Show 2024. The sportier model is finished in a dual-tone orange and black colour along with twin racing stripes on the hood and roof, and Racer badges on the front fenders. It comes with blacked-out headlamps, black-finished multispoke alloy wheels, a shark fin antenna, and a more pronounced rear spoiler. The cabin is finished in all-black scheme with orange treatments on the steering wheel, AC vents, upholstery lines, and stitching.

The ambient light around the center console and footwell also follows the striking Orange color. The RACER is embossed on the head restraints. It is equipped with a 10.25-inch infotainment unit with wireless connectivity, a 7-inch digital instrument console, Heads-Up Display (HUD), wireless phone charging, ventilated front seats, an air purifier & six airbags. It will be powered by a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine that produces 120bhp and 170Nm of torque. Read More..

4. Tata Altroz facelift & EV

Tata Motors had showcased the Altroz EV at the 2020 Delhi Auto Expo. The company has now confirmed that the production-ready iteration of the Altroz EV will make its debut in 2025. The hatchback will receive some design changes such as closed-off grille with integrated DRLs, contemporary headlamp, a front air dam adorned with star patterns, new alloy wheels and revised tailgate and bumper. EV specific changes will be given to the interior. The Altroz EV will come with Tata’s Ziptron technology, featuring a permanent magnet AC motor and a lithium-ion battery pack. It is likely to offer a range of around 300-400km in a single charge.

Tata Motors will also launch the Altroz facelift, which has already been caught testing on the Indian roads. It will receive subtle design changes and feature-loaded interior. The hatchback will have a bigger touchscreen infotainment unit, a digital instrument console, wireless charging, ventilated front seats, sunroof and others. The hatchback is likely to retain the existing 88bhp, 1.2L NA petrol and 110bhp, 1.2L turbo petrol engines. The hatchback will also come with a CNG powertrain, featuring a 1.2L petrol engine enhanced with Tata’s twin-cylinder CNG technology. Transmission options will include a 5-speed manual and 6-speed DCT.

5. Tata Harrier EV

The electric version of the Harrier SUV is the next model in our list of upcoming Tata Cars. The company had showcased the closer to production version of the SUV at the 2024 Bharat Mobility Show. It comes with a new blanked-off grille, a revised bumper with angular creases, split headlamp setup with blackened housing, and a new LED light bar spanning its width. It is built on the Acti.ev platform, supporting FWD, RWD and AWD systems. It is compatible with both permanent magnet synchronous motors and induction motors.

The SUV will have a technologically advanced cabin, featuring a large touchscreen infotainment system, a new central tunnel with rotary dials for different driving modes, a new twin-spoke steering wheel, etc. It is likely to come with dual motor and AWD setups. It is expected to offer V2L and V2V charging capabilities, and a battery pack of around 60kWh. The electric SUV is likely to offer a range of 400km to 500km on a single charge. Read More…

6. Tata Sierra EV

Tata Motors has confirmed that the Sierra lifestyle SUV will be launched in 2025. The SUV will be offered with both electric and petrol/diesel powertrains. Design patent of the new Sierra EV has already been leaked on the Internet. The SUV will be built on the brand’s new Acti.ev platform, which is compatible with different body styles and differently sized vehicles. This lifestyle SUV will come with a feature-loaded interior. The dashboard layout will have a twin-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel, a large free-standing touchscreen infotainment unit and a digital instrument console. It is likely to come with two seating configurations – the regular 5-seater with rear bench seat and the 4-seater lounge version. The Lounge variant will come with independent seats at the rear with electric adjustment feature.

The SUV will come with several high-end features including ADAS, an electric sunroof, digital driver’s display, ambient mood lighting and individual screens for the rear occupants in the lounge variant.
