New 2014 Maruti Swift and Swift Dzire Facelift Coming in 2014

Car manufacturers across the globe are aiming to capture market share in the highly potential Indian car market. Maruti Suzuki, India’s largest carmaker is also planning to launch a series of new cars in the coming years. Brands including Honda, Hyundai and Ford are posing strong competition for the MSI in India. Seeing the growing competition, the company is now planning to launch a range of new cars and facelifts this year, and a couple of more next year. We reported earlier that Maruti will launch the Swift and Swift Dzire facelift by the mid-2014 and the Ciaz sedan by the festive season. Moreover, the company is also aiming to introduce Ritz, WagonR and Dzire with AMT transmission, SX4 S-Cross and XA Alpha SUVs, and YRA premium hatchback. We bring you a list of Maruti Cars coming this year.

Maruti Swift facelift

Maruti is gearing up to launch the facelifted version of its top selling hatchback, Swift in the Indian car market by the second half of 2014. The vehicle has already been launched in several international markets including Japan and other European nations. The overall design and styling of the new Swift hatchback remains unchanged. At the front, the vehicle is equipped with the new L-shaped LEDs with integrated into fog lamps and restyled front bumper with silver accents. If media reports to believe, the top spec model will sport the 16-inch alloy wheels and a new Boost Blue Metallic shade. Inside the cabin, the vehicle gets minimal changes. The vehicle sports new upholstery for seats, an auto-up one touch function to driver’s side power window, auto headlamps, electrically adjustable side mirrors and few more.

Maruti Swift Dzire facelift

With the introduction of Hyundai Xcent, the competition level in the compact sedan segment gets furious. Moreover, Tata Motors will launch the Zest sedan by the mid-2014 and Ford will introduce the Figo sedan by the early next year. Keeping this in mind, Maruti Suzuki is geared up to launch the facelifted version of the country’s top selling sedan, Swift Dzire.  Moreover, if media reports to believe, the new Dzire will also get the automated manual transmission. As it is based on the Swift hatchback, we expect the same changes given to the Swift will also be seen on the Dzire facelift. When it comes to powertrain, the vehicle continues to be powered by the same 1.2-litre K-Series petrola and 1.3-litre multi-jet diesel engines.

Maruti Suzuki Ciaz aka YL1 sedan

Maruti Suzuki India unveiled the much-awaited Ciaz aka YL1 sedan at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo. It will come as the SX4 replacement and is expected to be launched by the festive season. The vehicle has already been spotted during its test rounds on the Indian roads. This mid-sized sedan shares its design cues with the Suzuki Authentics concept that was unveiled at the 2013 Shanghai Motor Show. On the interiors, this vehicle is likely to source its components from Ertiga MPV. The front fascia of the sedan gets a trapezoidal grille, wide air dam, swept back headlamps and lots of chrome inserts. Its side profile has prominent creases running along the length of the car. The sedan is equipped with several high end features including automatic climate control, new infotainment system, anti-lock braking system with electronic brakeforce distribution, dual airbags and many more.

Under the hood, the new sedan is likely to get the same 1.6-litre petrol engine; however, it is also speculated that the company might use 1.4-litre engine that powers the Ertiga MPV. The diesel version is expected to be powered by the 1.3-litre Multi-jet engine. Both engines will be coupled to a five-speed manual transmission gearbox; the company will also introduce the AMT (automated manual transmission) gearbox.

Maruti Alto K10 and WagonR AMT

India’s largest carmaker, MSI launched the Celerio hatchback with AMT auto gear shift which has received an overwhelming response from car buyers across the nation. Seeing the good response for AMT gearbox, the company is now aiming to launch the AMT version of Alto k10 and WagonR by the end of this year or by early 2015.
