New Upcoming Maruti Cars in India in 2024, 2025

In a bid to regain the 50% market share, Maruti Suzuki is now planning to launch a wide range of new cars and SUVs in the country in the next 2-3 years. The company’s future range will include petrol-powered cars, hybrid vehicles and electric vehicles. Adding to it, MSIL will upgrade its existing range with improved features & styling along with fuel efficient engines. Adding to it, the company has confirmed that it will continue to sell hatchbacks and will introduce multiple new models in the coming days. Here’s a complete list of the upcoming Maruti cars in India in 2024, 2025 and 2026.

1. New Maruti Swift

The first model in our list of upcoming maruti cars is the new-gen Maruti Suzuki Swift, which has already been launched in Japan. The new model has received significant design changes and an all-new interior along with a new Z-Series petrol engine. It is based on the heavily modified HEARTECT platform, which will also underpin the new-gen Dzire. Compared to the existing hatch, the new Swift is 15mm longer; however, the width and height are reduced by 40mm and 30mm respectively. It has a boot space of 265-litres, which can be further extended by folding the second-row seat.

It retains the original silhouette; however, the new Swift has received several new design elements. It comes with sharper front fascia, featuring aggressive grille and new headlamps. It has conventional door handles, new alloy wheels and new tailgate design with inverted C-shaped LED tail-lights. The cabin is heavily inspired from the Fronx crossover. It features a new 9-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a flat-bottom steering wheel, automatic AC, keyless entry, push-button start-stop, reverse camera, etc. The hatchback will be powered by Suzuki’s new 1.2-litre Z-series petrol engine that produces 82bhp and 108Nm. New Maruti Dzire

After launching the new Swift, Maruti Suzuki will launch the next-gen Dzire sub-4 meter sedan in the Indian market. It will share several body panels, interiors, styling and platform with the hatchback sibling. Instead of a completely different design, the new Dzire will have more evolved styling. It will have a different large grille, a clamshell bonnet, new bumper with prominent cuts & creases, and new 5-spoke alloy wheels.

The new Dzire will have all-new interiors with similarities with the Baleno and Fronx crossover. It will have an all-new dashboard layout with a new larger 9-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, a semi-digital instrument console and automatic AC. The top-spec model is likely to offer six airbags, while the dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, ESC and others will come as an optional. Maruti Suzuki EVX

Maruti Suzuki EVX Concept EV

Maruti Suzuki will finally enter the electric vehicle space with an all-new mid-sized SUV based on the eVX concept. First unveiled at the 2023 Auto Expo, the Maruti Suzuki EVX will be positioned against the likes of the MG ZS EV, Mahindra XUV400 and the upcoming EVs including Tata Curvv and Hyundai Creta EV. In terms of proportions, the e-SUV is 4300mm long, 1800mm wide and 1600mm tall, and has a wheelbase of 2700mm.

The electric SUV is based on an all-new skateboard platform (codenamed 27PL), which is derived from Toyota’s 40PL global architecture. The SUV will be equipped with several high-end features, along with several connected car tech. It is likely to get a 60kWh battery pack coupled with an electric motor. The electric SUV will offer a range of up to 550km on a single charge. The SUV will also receive an AWD system. Maruti Grand Vitara 7-Seater

Maruti Suzuki will launch an all-new 7-seater SUV in the Indian market in 2025. The new model will be based on Suzuki’s Global C platform that also underpins the Grand Vitara and the Brezza. It is basically the long-wheelbase version of the Grand Vitara. The length of the SUV is likely to be increased by 300mm to create more space for the third-row. The 7-seater SUV is expected to be showcased at the 2025 Auto Expo.

The new 7-seater SUV is likely to be powered by a 1.5-litre K15C petrol engine with a mild hybrid tech. Both manual and torque convertor automatic gearbox options will be on offer. The SUV could also receive Toyota’s 1.5L 3-cylinder strong hybrid engine with higher fuel efficiency. Maruti Fronx Facelift

Maruti Suzuki is working on an all-new strong hybrid system (codenamed HEV), which will debut on the Fronx facelift. The Fronx facelift is scheduled to be launched sometime in 2025. The new tech is likely to be significantly cost effective compared to Toyota’s series-parallel hybrid tech. This hybrid tech receives mechanical power from the electric motor, powered by either a petrol generator or a battery. The vehicle’s computer will determine the proportion of power from the battery or the generator. The system can use the battery pack to power the motor, thus reducing use of the engine for higher efficiency.

The hybrid tech will be incorporated with the new 1.2-litre 3-cylinder petrol engine, which will first be introduced in the new Swift. New Maruti Electric MPV (codenamed YMC)

Maruti Suzuki is preparing an all-new electric MPV, which is scheduled to be launched sometime in the second half of 2026. Internally codenamed YMC, the new EV will be based on the same bespoke platform that underpins the eVX. This platform is versatile enough to accommodate different body styles and battery pack options. This 3-row MPV is likely to share most of the components and battery options with the eVX. It is expected to be offered with two battery pack options – a 48kWh and 60kWh. The top-end version could offer a range of up to 550km on a single charge.

Maruti Suzuki eWX electric hatchback

Maruti Suzuki is preparing an all-new entry-level electric hatchback, which will be positioned against the Tiago EV. It is reportedly to be launched in our market by 2026-27. The new EV is likely to be based on the eWX concept showcased by Suzuki Motor Corporation at the Japan Mobility Show in 2023. The company has started working on an all-new, grounds-up EV architecture for compact electric vehicles codenamed K-EV that has been derived from the Toyota 40PL global platform.

The Suzuki eWX concept measures 3.4 meters in length, which makes it smaller than the S-Presso.  It measures 3395mm in length, 1475mm in width and 1620mm in height. The new model is likely to be based on the heavily modified HEARTECT platform, which will also support hybrid tech. It will share the strong hybrid powertrain from the Fronx facelift. It will be powered by a new 1.2-litre 3-cylinder petrol engine, which will debut in the new Swift. The hybrid tech will be added to the new Z12E powertrain. Maruti Suzuki is also working on an all-new entry-level 3-row MPV, which will be positioned below the Ertiga MPV. To be measured under 4 meters in length, the new MPV will be based on the Spacia MPV on sale in the Japanese market. The 7-seater mini MPV is likely to be equipped with the 1.2L petrol engine with a strong hybrid tech. The new family MPV is expected to offer a fuel efficiency of over 35kmpl.
