Upcoming Hero Bikes Scooters in India

Here’s a complete list of upcoming Hero bikes and scooters that will go on sale in coming years.

In a bid to maintain top position in the highly competitive two-wheeler maker, Hero MotoCorp is planning to launch a range of new bikes and scooters in India. Some of them have been unveiled at the Delhi Auto Expo 2018 including the all-new XPulse off-roader and new Maestro 125. Here, we bring you a list of all new upcoming Hero bikes and scooters that will go on sale in the country in next two years.

Upcoming Hero Bikes in 2019, 2020

1. New Hero XPulse

The Hero XPulse is surely one of the much-awaited upcoming Hero bikes in India. The adventure bike made its first appearance at the 2017 EICMA Motor Show, and showcased in India at the 2018 Auto Expo. It’s the bigger version of India’s first ever on-off road bike – the Hero Impulse. Despite being a capable yet affordable bike, the Xmpulse failed to live up to the company’s expectation. Seeing the growing demand for adventure or dual-purpose motorcycles, the homegrown automaker is evaluating a more powerful version of the bike.

For power, the Hero XPulse makes use of a 200cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine sourced from the Hero Xtreme 200R. On the naked sports motorcycle, this motor delivers a top power of 18.4bhp at 8,000rpm while generating a peak torque of 17.1Nm at 6,500rpm. With off-road capabilities and 200cc engine, this upcoming Hero bike in India will take on the Royal Enfield Himalayan.

Expected Launch: January-March, 2019

2. Hero XF3R

The Hero XF3R is the entry-level mid-sized motorcycle that broke cover in its concept form at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo. Previewed as the ‘Design concept vehicle’, the concept represents the company’s futuristic design approach. Hero had confirmed that the same design theme will be used for its future performance street bikes. At the heart of the Hero XF3R will be a 300cc engine boosted with Dual Map technology map and fuel injection system. In the 300cc motorcycle space, it will be put up against the KTM 390 Duke, Mahindra Mojo and Bajaj Pulsar CS400.

Designed on a steel trellis frame, the new Hero 300cc bike comes fitted with the alloy wheels and Pirelli Sport Demon tyres. Face of the bike has aggressive appeal featuring street fighter style headlamp. Other design elements include LED tail lamp with integrated turn indicators, twin-port exhaust system, fuel tank with extensions, etc. Damping duties on the bike will be taken care of by USD telescopic forks up front and a single-sided monoshock and swingarm rear suspension unit.

3. Hero XPulse 200T

The next in our list of upcoming Hero bikes is the new XPulse 200T tourer motorcycle. Unveiled at the 2018 EICMA, the new bike is claimed to offer modern technology in retro-styling. The new motorcycle is based on the XPulse 200 Adventure and offers easy and comfortable riding posture. In terms of features, the XPulse 200T gets a single-channel ABS, LED lights, digital speedometer with Bluetooth connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation. Powering the tourer is a 200cc, single-cylinder engine that produces 18.4bhp of power and 17.1Nm of torque.

4. Hero Maestro Edge 125

Hero Maestro Edge 125 Scooter

Considering the growth of the 125cc scooter segment, the home-grown bikemaker aims to launch two new models – the Maestro Edge 125 and Duet 125. Both the models made their public debut at the 2018 Auto Expo. Visually, the new Maestro Edge 125 looks exactly similar to the 110cc model. However, the revised rear and sharper front styling make it look slightly different.

The list of features will be carried over from the smaller capacity model including LED taillamp, service indicators, digital analougue instrumentation, optional front disc brake, etc. Powering the Hero Mestro Edge 125 will be a 125cc, single-Energy cylinder Boost boosted with Hero’s i3S (idle start stop) technology. This motor will push out a maximum power output of 8.7bhp at 6,750rpm against 10.2Nm of torque at 5,000rpm.

5. Hero AXL HE20

One among the upcoming Hero scooters in India, the AXL HE20 is claimed be the one of the faster electric vehicle in its category. Unveiled just prior to 2018 Auto Expo, the Hero AXL HE20 is equipped with a 48 volt Lithium ion battery that can accelerate 0-60kmph in 12 seconds. One can fully charge its battery in just 3.5 hours. The e-scooter offers an electric range of 110km, and is capable to attain a top speed of 85kmph. Some of its key features include GPS Route optimisation, GPS tracking, regenerative braking and keyless entry. As of now, the design details of the AXL HE20 are yet to be revealed.

6. Hero Dare

The world’s largest two-wheeler maker is planning to launch its long-awaited Dare scooter in the country this year. Unveiled at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo, this two-wheeler is claimed to be a male-centric scooter. This scooter comes equipped with features like full digital console, full LED tail-lights, automatic headlamp on (AHO), dual-tone wheel design, mobile charging point, etc.

At the heart of this scooter will be a single-cylinder 124.6cc engine that churns out 9.38bhp of power at 7,500rpm and a peak torque of 9.8Nm at 6,500rpm. This engine is coupled to a CVT automatic gearbox. For braking purpose, the scooter gets 200mm diameter hydraulic disc at the front and 130mm drum brake at the rear. Suspension mechanism comprises of telescopic hydraulic shock absorbers and single hydraulic shock absorber at the front and rear, respectively.

7. Hero Dute-E

New Hero Duet

Of all the upcoming Hero scooters in India, the Hero Dute-E is the pure electric scooter had its global debut as a concept at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo. Developed by the company’s in-house R&D team, the Duet-E will share its platform and technology with the upcoming Leap electric scooter. It will be powered by a 5 KW/14 Nm electric motor that is capable to mark 0-60kmph in 6.5 seconds. The scooter can offer a range up to 65km in a full charge. Unlike the regular model, the Hero Duet E features a black panel on the front apron, green decals and white livery.

8. Hero Zir 150

The Zir is one of the most-anticipated upcoming Hero scooters in India. This sporty maxi-scooter was put up on display at the 2014 Delhi Motor Show. The all-new Hero Zir will be made available in two variants – a ‘European style’ step-through and the flat floorboard. Powering the scooter will be a 157cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, 4-valve engine that is capable of yielding 13.9bhp of power at 8,500rpm along with a peak torque of 12.7Nm at 7,000rpm.

With features like dual projector lamps with daytime running lights, the European-styled step seat and LED winkers and tail-lamp, the scooter looks contemporary and very premium. It also gets flower type disc plates, a digital analog console and integrated pillion handle. The scooter also hosts a bunch of advanced connectivity features.

9. Hero Leap Hybrid Scooter

Unveiled as a concept at the 2012 Auto Expo, the Hero Leap Hybrid is the country’s first indigenous electric hybrid scooter. It will be the first all-new Hero scooter for the European market that will be equipped with an 8kW PMAC (Permanent magnet AC) motor powered by lithium-ion batteries. Honda claims that this traction power-unit generates a maximum torque of 60Nm.

In order to increase the rev-range of the vehicle, the company also equipped a 124cc fuel-injected petrol engine that runs 340km on a single charge. While running with the range extender, the Leap Hybrid can hit a top speed of 100kmph. It offers a fuel tank capacity of 3-litres.
