New TVS Apache RTR 165 RP Launch Soon – What To Expect?

TVS Motor Company has sent us a media ride invite of its upcoming new product that’s scheduled to happen in September 14, 2021 at Hosur. The invite teases inverted C-shaped headlamp of the new model with a caption ‘Turn Your RAD On’. While the company hasn’t yet revealed details of its new offering, it’s likely to be a sportier version of the Apache RTR 160 4V. Recently, the company filed trademark application for the TVS Apache RTR 165 RP nameplate. It leads us to believe that it could be the new product that slated to arrive next week. The TVS Apache RTR 165 RP (Race Performance) could be powered by rebored version of the 159.7cc, single-cylinder, oil-cooled engine boosted with fuel injection technology. While the standard model delivers power worth 17.63bhp and 14.73Nm of torque, its sportier variant might be tuned for offering slightly higher torque. The overall performance is also expected to be better than the Apache RTR 160 4V.

A few cosmetic changes could be made to the upcoming Apache RTR 165 RP. It’s likely to have more ergonomic design with slightly lower handlebars. The footpegs might also be shifted slightly rear side. The suspension setup that includes telescopic fork and a Showa-tuned preload-adjustable monoshock unit at rear, could be retained.

The higher variant of the Apache RTR 160 4V comes with the petal discs on both ends and the base variant gets a drum brake at the rear. Both models have a single-channel ABS (anti-lock braking system). TVS’ new Apache RTR 165 RP could be benefited with dual-channel ABS. Read – TVS To Launch 6 Electric Bikes/Scooters In Next 2 Years
