New TVS 125cc Bike (Pulsar Rival) Launching Tomorrow; Raider/Fiero

TVS Motor Company is all set to re-enter the 125cc motorcycle segment in the country. The company will launch an all-new 125cc sporty looking motorcycle tomorrow. It is rumoured to be called the TVS Raider 125, as this name has already been registered in India. Adding to it, the teaser reveals the R word that suggests that the bike could carry a name with R as a starting word.

Expected to be priced around Rs 75,000 to 80,000, the new TVS Raider 125 will rival the likes of the Bajaj Pulsar 125, Honda CB Shine SP and the Hero Glamour Xtec. It will be positioned between the Radeon 110 and the Apache RTR 160 4V. The motorcycle could borrow some features from the Apache Series.

The teaser confirms that the new TVS Raider 125 will come with LED lighting system including LED headlights, LED tail-lights, LED DRLs (Daytime Running Lamps), and LED turn indicators. It will come with features like all digital instrument console, four disc brake, ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System), split seats, black alloy wheels, tubeless tyres, etc.

The new TVS 125cc motorcycle is likely to get ET Fi or Eco Thrust Fi engine, which already powers the TVS commuter range including the Jupiter and Radeon. It is most likely to source the 125cc engine from the Star City 125 and the Victor 125, which is developed for export markets only. It is likely to offer power output close to 10-12bhp and a peak torque of around 11Nm. This engine will be paired to a 5-speed gearbox.

New TVS Jupiter 125

TVS Motor Company is also likely to introduce a new Jupiter 125 scooter, which will be positioned against the Honda Activa 125 and the Suzuki Access 125. It is likely to offer massive under seat storage, which can accommodate two helmets. The scooter is expected to get analog speedometer with a small LCD screen to show details about fuel level and trip-meters. It is expected that the new scooter will share the engine with the NTorq. However, the power figures and CVT ratios might be different. The fuel efficiency numbers will also be improved significantly over the NTorq 125.
