The British bikemaker, Triumph Motorcycles has launched the new 2018 Triumph Bonneville Speedmaster in the Indian market at Rs 11.11 lakh (ex-showroom, Pan India) . At this price, the Bonneville Speedmaster will take on the Harley-Davidson 1200 Custom and Street Bob.The regular Bonneville gets a significant retrofit in capability and style to create this Cruiser. This model is equipped with several advanced tech like single button cruise control, switchable traction control, torque assist clutch and others.
Based on the standard Bonneville Bobber, the Bonneville Speedmaster uses the same tubular steel cradle frame that underpins its donor sibling. Though, its rear subframe has been designed to accommodate a grab rail and a pillion seat. Triumph Bonneville Speedmaster Specifications
Powering the bike is a 1200cc High Torque parallel twin engine, which is claimed to offer segment leading torque. Its torque figure stands at 106Nm at 4000rpm, which is 42 percent more than the 2015 Speedmaster and 10 percent more than the current Bonneville T120. The top power is rated at 76bhp (77PS), which is transferred to the rear wheel via a six-speed gearbox. It also gets a new stainless steel exhaust with twin skinned for a seemless hidden cat box with twin filter design. Triumph Bonneville Speedmaster Design
The new Bonneville Speedmaster is equipped with a 5-inch full LED headlight with new daytime running lights and full led lighting throughout including rear light, turn indicators and licensing plate light. The headlamp of the bike has ‘nacelle’ detailing. It also gets a battery-box and an optional twin-seat setup. The bike comes with newly developed ride-by-wire throttle with two riding modes – Road and Rain – along with the latest generation ABS and switchable traction control. The bike comes with a larger 12-litre fuel tank for increased range. This motorcycle has easily interchangeable twin and single seat set ups. The new motorcycle is available in three colours – Jet Black, Cranberry Red and Fusion White and Phantom Black with a twin hand painted coach line.
For braking, the Speedmaster has 310mm twin-disc front brakes with two piston Brembo callipers and 255mm single disc rear brake with single piston Nissin callipers. Suspension duties are carried out by 41mm cartridge front forks with 90mm travel and hidden monoshock RSU with linkage with 73mm rear wheel travel and stepped preload adjuster.
The new Bonneville Speedmaster is liquid cooled, which reduces emissions and offers a higher first major service interval of 16,000km. The company is also offering 130 custom accessories with this motorcycle and new accessories is now available across all Triumph dealerships.
