Toyota is preparing a wide range of new models including the new Urban Cruiser, a new mid-sized SUV and an all-new 560B MPV. According to EVO India, Toyota will be launching its flagship SUV, the new Land Cruiser in the Indian market by August 2022.
The report claims that Toyota had quietly started accepting bookings for the new Land Cruiser LC300 in February. Deliveries for the new model is reportedly to be commenced by August. However, Toyota has temporarily stopped accepting further bookings due to semiconductor shortage.
Toyota dealerships were accepting pre-orders for the diesel V6 engine. It is powered by a 3.3-litre twin-turbo diesel engine that produces 305bhp and 700Nm of torque. It is paired to a 10-speed automatic gearbox. In the global markets, the new Toyota Land Cruiser LC300 is also equipped with a 3.5-litre twin-turbocharged petrol engine that produces 415bhp and 650Nm of torque. It is paired to a 10-speed automatic gearbox. The LC300 SUV is claimed to achieve 0-100kmph in just 6.7 seconds.
The previous generation Land Cruiser was offered with a 5.7-litre V8 engine; however, the new model won’t receive this powertrain. The new Toyota Land Cruiser LC300 is based on the GA-F platform, which is a differet derivative of TNGA (Toyota New Global Architecture) platform. The new architecture is a ladder-on-frame chassis with new high strength steel for improved stiffness. The new model is around 200kgs lighter than the previous model.
The new Land Cruiser LC300 comes with a 4×4 system as standard. It features an adaptive variable suspension with an electronically controlled Kinetic Dynamic Suspension Stabilisation System. It also gets multi-terrain monitor and multi-terrain select with Auto & Deep Snow mode. It also has improved wheel articulation and craw control system.
