After introducing the new Hyryder, Toyota is now preparing to launch the new Innova Hybrid in the country. Before India, the new Toyota Innova Hybrid will go on sale in the Indonesian market in early November 2022. In fact, dealers have started accepting pre-bookings for the new model at a token amount of Rp. 15 million (approx INR 80,000).
Ahead of the official launch key interior features of the new Toyota Innova Hybrid has been leaked on the Internet. The leaked info reveals that the new Innova will have several high-end features, which are missing in the existing model. In fact, the new MPV will be based on the new platform and won’t be offered with a diesel powertrain.

The report claims that most of the features will be offered in the high-end (Q) variant with a hybrid engine; however, few will also be offered in the middle V variant. What’s interesting is that the captain seats in the second row can be adjusted electrically. Also, the captain seats come with ottoman function which we have seen in the high-end MPVs including the Toyota Voxy and the Kia Carnival. The new Innova Hybrid also comes with a panoramic sunroof, which is not available in the current model.
The new Toyota Innova Hybrid will come with features like powered tailgate, multi-colour ambient lighting, LED lighting system, 360 degree camera and soft-touch finish on the dashboard and other interior panels. The MPV will come with Toyota Safety Sense, which will offer features like Pre-Collision System, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Tracing Assist and Automatic High Beam.
The Indonesian-spec model is reportedly to be called the new Innova Zenix. The India-spec model will be called the new Innova HyCross that is in-line with the new Urban Cruiser Hyryder (Hy refers to Hybrid). The new-gen Innova will be based on a new, monocoque platform with front wheel drive setup instead of the existing ladder-frame chassis & RWD layout. It will have a 2860mm long wheelbase, which is 100mm longer than the current model.
The new Innova’s hybrid powertrain setup will include a petrol engine with an electric motor and an electric battery. The MPV is likely to come with a 2.0L petrol hybrid system or a 1.8L hybrid setup. The company could use the localised version of the THS II (Toyota Hybrid System II) that consists of a twin-motor setup for high ‘step-off’ torque and fuel efficiency.
