Japanese automaker, Toyota has finally released the pictures and all details about the new Harrier Crossover. To be launched in Japan, the Toyota Harrier 2020 comes with all-new design, feature-loaded cabin and new engine options. First launched in 1997, the Harrier now entered into its fourth generation.

The fourth-generation Toyota Harrier 2020 is based on the company’s new TNGA platform, which also underpins the Prius and the new Camry sedan. In terms of styling, the new model comes with coupe like profile with heavily raked rear windshield.

New Harrier Design

It gets a long bonnet, which gives it a sleek profile. Upfront is a large central air-dam with chrome linings over the upper and lower edges.

The new Tata Harrier 2020 comes equipped with all-LED headlamps, which are now sleeker in design and features J-shaped LED DRLs (Daytime Running Lights).

New Harrier Specs

At the back, the new Harrier gets slim LED tail-lamps with a light-bar connecting the tail-lights. There is a roof-integrated spoiler and a second faux-spoiler-like design highlight placed between the rear windscreen and the tail-lamps.

Inside the cabin, the new Toyota Harrier 2020 comes with premium leather and high-quality plastic material. It comes fitted with a large 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system dominating the centre console. It gets touch-sensitive buttons for AC. The instrument console is simple, featuring twin dials and larger MID display.

In terms of features, the new-gen Harrier gets a JBL audio system, powered panoramic sunroof, a digital IRVM, Intelligent Clearance Sonar with Parking Support Brakes, etc. The hybrid version of the SUV gets a 100V AC/1,500W accessory power outlet, which could be used as a power generator.

New Harrier features

The new Toyota Harrier 2020 comes with petrol and hybrid engine options. Four-wheel-drive system will be offered as optional with both powertrains. The gasoline version gets a 2.0-litre, direct-injection four-cylinder unit that produces 171bhp and 207Nm of torque. A CVT automatic gearbox will be offered as standard.

New Harrier Details

The hybrid version gets a 178bhp, 2.5-litre petrol engine coupled to a front-mounted 88kW electric motor in 2WD. The duo offers a combined power output of 218bhp. The four-wheel drive model comes fitted with an additional 40kW electric motor powering the rear axle. Total system output is bumped up to 222bhp in the four-wheel-drive model.
