New Toyota Fortuner TRD Edition Launched; Celebrates 10 Years Of SUV In India

Toyota Kirloskar Motors, the Indian arm of Japanese carmaker, has rolled out a new special variant of its top-selling Fortuner SUV. Called the 2019 Toyota Fortuner TRD Celebratory Edition, the new model has been priced at Rs 33.85 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The SUV’s new variant has been designed by Toyota Racing Development (TRD) division and gets sporty design bits and features over the regular model. Upfront of the 2019 Toyota Fortuner TRD Celebratory Edition looks slightly different than the standard model, thanks to its new TRD radiator grille garnish and updated bumper with faux skid plate. The SUV also features all-black 18-inch alloy wheels.

The 2019 Toyota Fortuner TRD Celebratory Edition comes painted in dual-tone Black Roof with Pearl White colour scheme. No changes have been made to its dimensions. Sportier bits continue inside the cabin as well. The 2019 Toyota Fortuner TRD Celebratory Edition has a dual-tone Black and Maroon interior theme instead of the regular Black Beige combination along with Chamois and Dark Brown seat colours.

The new special edition also gets leather finish black and maroon seat upholstery with contrast red stitching and embossed TRD moniker. Features such as LED projector headlamps, 7 airbags, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with navigation, hill assist control, vehicle stability control with brake assist and ABS with EBD are carried over from the regular model. Powering the new 2019 Toyota Fortuner TRD Celebratory Edition is the same 2.8L, 4-cylinder diesel engine paired to a 6-speed automatic gearbox. This oil burner pushes out a peak power of 177bhp against 450Nm of torque. The new sportier variant of the Fortuner comes with 4X2 drivetrain system.
