November 7, 2016 – The Toyota Fortuner is one of the most popular SUVs currently on sale in the country. It is known for its rough road ability and sporty road presence, but the SUV lacks on interior front. This SUV has been the best-selling SUV in India for quite a long time, but the sales of the SUV have seen a continuous dip ever-since the introduction of new Ford Endeavour. In order to regain its lost market position, Toyota has launched the new generation Toyota Fortuner In India. Available in both petrol and diesel fuel options, the new Fortuner is priced in the range of Rs 25.92 lakh to Rs 31.12 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi.

New & Powerful Engines
The new Toyota Fortuner will be powered by a 2.8-litre GD diesel engine, which comes as a replacement for the old 3.0-litre unit that powers the previous model. This engine also powers the new Innova Crysta. Available in both manual and automatic versions, the new 2.8-litre diesel engine is capable of producing 177bhp of top power at 3,400rpm along with a peak torque of 450Nm at 1,600rpm – 2400rpm (420Nm for manual transmission). The company new Fortuner is also available with a petrol version. It is also the first SUV in its league to offer petrol option to buyers. SUVs like Ford Endeavour, Chevrolet Trailblazer and Mitsubishi Pajero Sport only comes with diesel option. The petrol version will be powered by a 2.7-litre, 4-cylinder engine that also powers the Innova Crysta. This engine is capable of producing 166bhp of power and 245Nm of torque. Transmission duties will be carried out by a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic unit.
