New Tata Nano Launching as ‘Smart City Car’ in 2015

New 2014 Tata Nano Twist Launched

Now that the Zest has launched in India and Bolt is on verge to be rolled out, Tata Motors has proclaimed its plan to revitalize its petite hatchback Nano. Tata Motors will roll out Nano in new avatar next year in India and will be positioned as ‘Smart City Car’. Official have confirmed that the company is chalking out a plan to give a facelift to the hatchback and along with that also change its image in India among customers. Tata Nano sales suffered excruciatingly in past years despite company’s several attempts to improve its sales.

Before launching facelift version next year the company could also spawn AMT version of the hatchback by year end. Manufactured at the company’s Sanand production unit, Nano could also be exported to overseas markets. Before bringing revamped Nano, the company could spawn AMT version of the hatchback in India.

The hysterical hype created before launch of Nano specifically for its small size and low price could not do any good to the vehicle. After an initial spark, the hatchback failed to garner aplenty sales, though the company kept trying to lift its image but it could not succeed. Affecting its image the most were some fire catching incidents that generated negative impact about the car. Therefore Tata will have to work on re-building Nano’s image in India among the first time buyers who tend to buy low priced cars.
