Tata Harrier SUV model lineup will be further expanded with addition of two new mid-spec automatic variants – XTA and XTA+. While there is no official word on their launch date, the new automatic variants are reported to arrive sometime this month (August 2021). At present, the mid-size SUV has three automatic variants – XMA, XZA and XZA+ – priced at Rs 16.86 lakh, Rs 19.60 lakh and Rs 20.61 lakh respectively.
The dual-tone XZA+ model is available at Rs 20.81 lakh. While the XZA automatic Dark Edition and Camo Edition come with price tag of Rs 19.60 lakh, the XZA+ automatic Dark and Camo Editions cost Rs 20.81 lakh. All aforementioned prices are ex-showroom. No other changes will be made to the new variants. The upcoming Tata Harrier XTA and XTA+ automatic models will use the same 2.0L diesel engine that’s good for 168bhp and 350Nm.
Last month, the automaker introduced the updated Tata Harrier Dark Edition at a starting price of Rs 18.04 lakh. It gets newly-designed and bigger 18-inch alloy wheels along with a new Oberon Black paint scheme. Inside, the new Harrier Dark Edition offers all-black theme, gloss black strip on the dashboard, Benecke Kaliko leatherette seats with contrast blue stitching and Dark lettering on the headrest, tri-arrow design in the seats and gear knob and dark chrome treatment on the instrument cluster and AC vents.
Reports suggest that the company is planning to launch petrol iteration of the Harrier. The model is likely to come with the brand’s new 1.5L turbo gasoline motor benefited with direct injection technology. The new unit is essentially the 4-cylinder version of the 1.2L Revtron turbo petrol engine that does duty in the Nexon subcompact SUV. Its power figure is likely to be around 150bhp. The Harrier petrol could be offered with both manual and automatic gearbox.
