2018 will witness some interesting car launches. If we count on the major products, the new-generation Maruti Swift will hold the top spot. And our long will soon come to an end as the Indo-Japanese carmaker will begin pre-launch media activities for the new Swift in third week of January, 2018. Besides this, the hatchback’s new model will make its public debut at the Auto Expo that will kick start from February 9, 2018.

What will remain unchanged on the car is the engine setup. The 83bhp, 1.2-litre K-Series petrol and 74bhp, 1.3-litre DDiS diesel powertrains will be carried over from the current model. Though, the hatchback will get a 5-speed AMT (automated manual transmission) along with the conventional 5-speed manual gearbox.
Production of the new-generation Swift is already underway at the carmaker’s Sanand based plant in Gujarat. The hatchback’s new model will continue to take on the Hyundai Grand i10 and Ford Figo.
