Share Tweet Share Share Email Comments Maruti Swift will take a leap into the third generation early next year with a grand launch expected at the 2018 Auto Expo. Visually, it will be more upmarket & appealing with most of the cosmetic changes made in tandem with the new Dzire. The all-new Swift will sit on a 20mm longer wheelbase, indicating more space for the occupants inside. The 83bhp, 1.2-litre K-Series and 74bhp, 1.3-litre DDiS oil burner will be carried over from the existing model. Maruti Suzuki India could add the 100.5bhp, 1.0-litre Boosterjet engine to the carline. Transmission options are likely to include a conventional 5-speed manual unit, an AMT and a CVT. Reports suggest that Maruti India could also introduce the global Swift Sport model with 138bhp, 1.4-litre Boosterjet at a later stage. The Hybrid version was recently imported to India and it could be considered for the Indian market.
