New generation Suzuki Grand Vitara 7-seater SUV will go on sale in the global markets in the next 2 to 3 years

Japanese automaker, Suzuki is reportedly working on the next generation Grand Vitara 7-seater SUV. This model is expected to be launched in the next 2-3 years. Launched in 2005, the third generation Suzuki Grand Vitara is currently on sale in international markets.

Speaking to Russian media, Takayuki Hasegawa, Deputy General Manager, Suzuki Russia has confirmed that the new generation Grand Vitara will appear in the next two to three years. For people not in the known, Suzuki is also selling a five-seater Vitara SUV in the global markets alongside Suzuki Grand Vitara. The bigger model is based on a monocoque chassis with built-in ladder frame, which makes it tougher and off-road capable. It is available as a more premium alternative to the 5-seater Vitara soft-roader. Also See – Upcoming Maruti Cars In India

Maruti had also launched the Grand Vitara in India, but it failed to generate volumes for the brand. The reason behind failure is the high pricing and a lack of diesel engine option. If media reports are to be believed, Maruti Suzuki is now working on a five-seater premium SUV for the Indian market. This model could be based on the Suzuki Vitara soft-roader, which is available in global markets.

In fact, the Suzuki Vitara has already been spotted testing on Indian roads. Few reports also suggest that the Indo-Japanese brand is also planning to launch a 7-seater SUV in the country, which could be called Grand Vitara in India. The five-seater Vitara is reportedly to be launched in the Indian market next year.
