New Suzuki A-Wind Concept (YL7 hatch) unveiled in Thailand

Suzuki has unveiled the new A-segment hatchback, A-Wind Concept at the Thailand International Motor Show 2013. According to the company, the concept carries an elegant looking exterior and interior, a spacious and user-friendly cabin, with an excellent fuel economy.

The concept model measures 3600mm x 1600mm x 1540mm (length x Width X height), and has got a 2425mm long wheelbase. It is powered by a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder petrol engine, which is mated to a CVT gearbox. The vehicle rides on a 16-inch alloy wheels.

The design of the concept model revolves around three concepts- a dynamic body, a roomy cabin, and fine quality. It is painted in a striking Energy Yellow paint. The vehicle looks more of a tall-hatch which will offer more headroom and legroom for passengers. The front grille features two chrome bars which are stretching inside the headlamps. Side profile of the concept looks elegant with a prominent crease running along the rear door to the front fender.

The dual-tone cabin looks simple as well as functional. To create a more comfortable cabin, the distance between the front and rear seating has been extended, door openings are wide, and the seats are easy to get in and out of; plus the A-Wind delivers class-leading luggage space.

With this, it is now clear that Maruti Suzuki India will unveil the production version of A-Wind at the next year’s Indian Auto Expo. The vehicle will be launched in the second half of 2014, around festive season. It will replace the company’s A-star and Estilo hatchback.
