Suzuki Motorcycle India aims to expand its product portfolio with two new models every year. It will include all-new models, next-generation upgrade and facelifts of the existing models. Talking to Moneycontrol, Santoshi Uchida, Managing Director at Suzuki Motorcycle India, has revealed that the company will launch bigger capacity bikes and scooters in the country.
The Japanese two-wheeler maker is already working on an all-new 250cc Suzuki motorcycle that could be a cruiser or an adventure bike. While the name and details of the new model are still under the wraps, it could be the Suzuki Intruder 250 or Suzuki Adventure 250.
Reports suggest that Suzuki Motorcycle India might launch the quarter-litre Intruder at the 2020 Auto Expo. If launched, it will be the only 250cc cruiser in the country. Design and styling of the new Suzuki Intruder 250 will be completely different than the sporty Gixxer SF 250. It could be based on a slightly modified chassis with more laid-back riding stance. It might feature a low-seat, a longer swingarm and forward-set footpegs. Bits such as LCD instrument cluster, LED headlamp and taillamp could be carried over from the faired bike.
Suzuki is also working on a new powerful scooters with capacity over 150cc. Buoyed by the success of the Suzuki Access 125, the two-wheeler maker is also considering to launch an another 125cc scooter sometime in 2021.
