2019 SsangYong Korando

All-new SsangYong Korando will make global debut at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show

SsangYong has released the first photos and some details of the all-new Korando SUV. The SUV is scheduled to be launched in the Korean market later this month, while the global debut will happen in the 2019 Geneva Motor Show in the first week of March. It is expected that the new-age Korando will inspire the styling of the next-gen XUV500, which will be launched in 2020.

The SUV’s design is inspired by the larger G4 Rexton, which is currently on sale in India as Mahindra Alturas G4. The 2019 SsangYong Korando features a similar front design, prominent creases on the sides, and similarly styled headlight and tail-lights.

Inside the cabin, the new Korando adorns the “Blaze Cockpit” design language with major focus on digitization. The dashboard comes fitted with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 9-inch digital instrument console. The buttons on the central console is minimum, thanks to the new infotainment system.

SsangYong claims that the 2019 Korando offers a boot space of 551-litres. It also comes with an optional power tailgate. In the Korean market, the 2019 SsangYong Korando will be available with a new 1.6-litre turbodiesel engine. The company hasn’t released the engine specifications. The company’s smallest SUV – Tivoli is powered by a 1.6-litre diesel engine that produces 114bhp and 300Nm of torque. It is expected that the new 1.6L turbo unit will be tuned for higher power output. Also See – Mahindra XUV300 Price, Specs & Other Details
