New Skoda Octavia Onyx Launched; Price Rs 19.99 lakh
Czech automaker, Skoda has introduced the Octavia Onyx edition in the Indian market. The Onyx is available in 2 variants – 1.8L TSI DSG and 2.0L TDI DSG – priced at Rs 19.99 lakh and Rs 21.99 lakh (ex-showroom, India) respectively. It is available in 3 colour options – Candy White, new Race Blue and Corrida Red.
The Skoda Octavia Onyx comes with distinctive all-black design elements. Up front is a butterfly grille with chrome surround and Quadra headlamps with CystalGlo LED daytime running lights. On sides, the sedan gets carbon black door foils and glossy black 16-inch Premia alloy wheels and wing mirror housings. At the back, the Octavia Onyx has C-shaped tail-lamps and glossy black spoiler.
Inside the cabin, the Skoda Octavia Onyx gets premium black leather upholstery and decor complemented by chrome highlights. It comes with 3-spoke SuperSport flat-bottom multi-functional steering wheel with paddle shifters and black perforated leather. It comes with 12-way electrically adjustable driver and front passenger seats, with lumbar support, and the driver-seat gets 3 programmable memory functions.
The Skoda Octavia Onyx is available with 2 engine options – a 1.8-litre TSI petrol and a 2.0-litre TDI diesel. Paired to a 7-speed DSG gearbox, the gasoline unit produces 180PS of power and 250Nm of torque, and offers a fuel efficiency of 15.1kmpl. It achieves 0-100km in 7.7 seconds and hits a top speed of 233kmph. Paired to a six-speed DSG, the oil burner produces 143PS and 320Nm of torque. The diesel Octavia Onyx accelerates to 100kmph from zero in 9.2 seconds before hitting a top speed of 213kmph. It is claimed to offer an average fuel efficiency of 19.5kmpl.
As standard safety fitment, the Skoda Octavia Onyx gets six airbags, headlamp with AFS (Adaptive front-lighting system), ABS, ESC, EBD, Mechanical brake assist, multi-collision brake, hydraulic brake assist, anti-slip regulation and electronic differential lock. It is eequipped with 20.32cm touchscreen infotainment system with MirrorLink, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support. Other features include dual-zone climatronic air conditioning, humidity sensor to reduce windscreen misting, and illuminated and cooled front glove box and the jumbo box. The sedan offers a boot space of 590-litres, which can be extended to 1,580-litres by folding the rear seat.
