New Skoda Fabia at Paris Motor Show

Czech automaker, Skoda has unveiled the 2015 Fabia hatchback at the 2014 Paris Motor Show. The updated hatchback will not make its way to the Indian market; however, the company is planning to launch an all-new Rapid based hatchback for the Indian market.

Based on the thoroughly modified PQ25 platform, the new Fabia has received changes to both exteriors and interiors. The vehicle gets aggressive creases running across the length. It is equipped with new Skoda’s design philosophy, which is visible on the new Octavia and Yeti crossover. Inside the cabin, the vehicle gets several advanced features such as MirrorLink system, which allows smartphone app to be displayed on the Infotainment system. Adding to it, this model also gets SmartGate system and new multimedia device cradle to place a mobile phone, smartphone or an iPod.

The new model offers an impressive boot space of 330-litres, which can be extended up to 1,150-litres by folding the rear seats. Under the bonnet is the series of three and four cylinder engines. The petrol model gets 1.0-litre 3-cylinder MPI petrol motor that produces two states of tunes- 60bhp and 75bhp, and is paired to a five-speed manual gearbox. The 1.2-litre TSI motor producing 90bhp and 160Nm of torque, and is paired to a five-speed manual gearbox. This engine also tuned to develop 110bhp and 175Nm of torque, and is coupled to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. The oil burner is the new 1.4-litre 3-cylinder engine that produces three states of tunes- 75bhp, 90bhp and 105bhp. This engine is paired to a five-speed manual transmission gearbox.
