New Sketch Reveals Tata Altroz Hatchback Design – Looks Sharp

Tata Motors has released a new teaser video of the highly-awaited Tata Altroz premium hatchback. The video reveals the design sketches of the new Altroz, which shows a sharp looking hatchback. Designed under the supervision of Pratap Bose, Vice President, Global Design, Tata, the new hatchback will be the brand’s most expensive hatchback. The new model will make global debut at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show.

Not just Altroz, Tata will also reveal a micro SUV Vision Hornbill, a 7-seater SUV codenamed H7X and all-electric car based on the Altroz hatchback. The production version of the Altroz is designed by Tata Design Studios based in Italy, UK and India.

The Tata Altroz styling is inspired by the company’s new IMPACT 2.0 DESIGN language, which recently debuted in the Harrier SUV. It will be the brand’s first model based on the new ALFA (Agile Light Flexible and Advanced) modular platform, which will also underpin the Hornbill micro SUV and a premium B-SUV.

In the previous teaser, Tata has revealed that capabilities of the new ALFA platform. This platform is compatible enough to accommodate different body styles including hatchback, MPV, SUV and a sedan. Adding to it, the platform is capable of accommodating hybrid and electric powertrains. All the future Tata cars sits below 4.3 meter in length will be based on the new ALFA platform, while models above 4.3m will be developed on the new OMEGA ARC platform. The new Tata Altroz hatchback gets quite appealing and sharp design, featuring sweeping front fascia with slimmer grille and sleek headlamp assembly. It gets LED daytime running lights and tri-arrow shaped fog lamp assembly. The sculpted bonnet and aggressive body creases gives it a sporty profile. The hatchback gets strong beltline that runs across the length to merge the tail-lights. The hatchback gets LED tail-lights, floating roofline and short overhangs.

Inside the cabin, the Tata Altroz will offer segment-leading legroom and comfort and convenience features. It gets the large floating touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, automatic climate control, rear AC vents and others. The hatchback will be available with 2 petrol engine options – a 83bhp, 1.2-litre 3-cylinder naturally aspirated and a 110bhp, 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol. The diesel version is likely to get the new 1.5-litre Revotorq unit that produces 110bhp and 260Nm of torque. Transmission options are likely to include a 6-speed manual and a new DCT unit.
