New Scorpio, Brezza & Hyryder SUVs Launching Within 10 Days – Details

In the next 10 days, Mahindra, Maruti Suzuki and Toyota will introduce their respective new SUVs in the market. While Mahindra will introduce the new-gen Scorpio-N on June 27, Maruti Suzuki will launch the new Brezza on June 30, 2022. On the other hand, Toyota is all set to surprise us with the much-awaited Hyryder mid-sized SUV on July 1, 2022.

The new Scorpio-N will be launched on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of Scorpio nameplate in the country. The company has already released the exterior and interior images of the new Scorpio-N. The SUV looks significantly premium and feature-loaded compared to the current SUV. The new model will come with multiple seating options including the side facing third-row seats, front facing third-row seats and 6-seater with captain seats in the second-row. It is around 206mm longer, 97mm wider and 125mm shorter than the current model. In fact, the wheelbase is increased by 70mm.

In terms of features, the new Mahindra Scorpio-N comes with height adjustable seat belts, ventilated front seats, powered driver seat with lumbar support, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Alexa connectivity, connected car tech, a Sony-sourced 12-speaker system with 3D sound staging, an electric sunroof, a dual-zone climate control, wireless charger, etc.

It will be offered with two engine options – a 2.2L mHawk turbo diesel and a 2.0L mStallion turbo petrol. The diesel powertrain will offer two states of tunes – 130PS & 175PS, while the petrol engine will produce 200PS and 380Nm. Transmission choices will include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic. The new Scorpio comes with a part-time 4×4 system. The new Mahindra Scorpio-N’s 4Xplore offers 4 modes – Rough Road, Snow, Mud and Water. To improve off-roading capabilities, Mahindra has added manual locking rear differential.

Interested buyers can pre-book the new Maruti Brezza facelift online or at authorised Arena dealerships. The new model is reportedly to be offered in 4 trim levels – LXi, VXi, ZXi and ZXi+. Except for the base LXi, all 3 trims will come with automatic gearbox option. It will be powered by a 1.5-litre K15C petrol engine that produces 103bhp and 136.8Nm of torque. The SUV will also receive CNG version at a later stage. Transmission choices will include a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic.

The 2022 Maruti Brezza will come in 6 monotone and 3 dual-tone colour schemes. The monotone palette will include Sizzling Red, Prime Splendid Silver, Pearl Brave Khaki, Metallic Magma Grey, Pearl Arctic White and Exuberant Blue. The dual-tone shades will be Black and Splendid Silver, Sizzling Red and Black and White and Khaki Brave. In terms of features, the SUV will get a 9-inch free standing touchscreen infotainment system with wireless connectivity, a 360 degree camera, Heads-Up-Display (HUD), a new instrument cluster, a multi-functional steering wheel, connected car tech and a factory-fitted electric sunroof.

The much-awaited Toyota Hyryder mid-sized SUV will finally make its global debut in India on July 1, 2022. It is the first completely new product to be developed by Toyota and Suzuki joint venture. The new model will be based on Toyota’s TNGA-B or DNGA platform, which underpins a wide range of Toyota cars in global market. The new models will be produced at Toyota’s Plant 2 in Bidadi, Karnataka. It is reported that the bulk of the suppliers are from Maruti Suzuki’s set of components makers. On the flip side, Toyota will supply critical systems for the development of new models.

The new Toyota Hyryder will be offered with two engine options – a 1.5-litre petrol with a mild hybrid system and a 1.5L petrol with a strong hybrid tech. The mild hybrid unit and strong hybrid unit will offer 103PS and 116PS respectively. While the mild hybrid system will get manual and automatic gearbox, the strong hybrid unit will come with e-CVT. If reports are to be believed, the new Hyryder will be the only vehicle in the category to offer AWD (All-Wheel-Drive) system. The strong hybrid setup will come with the self-charging and FWD (front-wheel drive) system.
