Hyundai is planning to launch 5 new cars in the Indian market in the next 1 year.

With an aim to further strengthen its position, Hyundai is planning to launch 5 new cars in the Indian market in the next 1 year. This year itself, Hyundai has launched the new Santro, Verna and the updated versions of the Elite i20 and Creta SUV. Coming next year, Hyundai will enter into new segments. Moreover, brand’s first electric car for India will also arrive in the next 12 months –

Hyundai STYX

Korean automaker, Hyundai will officially enter into the sub-4 meter SUV segment in the first half of 2019. The company will launch the Carlino concept based SUV, which is likely to be called the Hyundai STYX. To be based on i20’s platform, the new small SUV will rival the Tata Nexon, Ford EcoSport and Maruti Vitara Brezza. This SUV will also mark the debut of Hyundai’s global 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine that produces 118bhp of power.

Launch – April-June 2018

– Hyundai Kona

This will be Hyundai’s first electric car for the Indian market. First unveiled at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show, the SUV will initially be imported as CKD unit and assembled at the company’s Chennai plant. The SUV is expected to be priced somewhere between Rs 25 lakh and Rs 30 lakh. The India-spec model is likely to feature the 39kW motor that offers 136bhp and 395Nm. This model offers an impressive range of 312km and claims to have a top speed of 155kmph.

Launch – Mid-2019

– Hyundai Tucson Facelift

Korean automaker, Hyundai will launch the Tucson facelift in India in the first half of 2019. First previewed at the 2018 New York Auto Show, the SUV gets cosmetic styling changes and better equipped cabin. The India-spec model will continue to feature the same set of engines – 155bhp, 2.0-litre petrol and 185bhp, 2.0-litre diesel.

Launch – May 2019

– Hyundai Elantra Facelift

Hyundai’s premium sedan for India, Elantra will soon receive a mid-life facelift. The updated model is already on sale in select international markets. The new model comes with sharper looks along with a long-list of features. Mechanically, the India-spec model will remain the same. It will rival the Skoda Octavia, Toyota Corolla and the 10th generation Honda Civic.

Launch – Early 2019

– New Hyundai Grand i10

We informed you earlier that Hyundai is working on the new-generation models of Grand i10, Xcent, i20 and Creta. Out of these 4, the Grand i10 will first receive a new-gen model in late 2019. Testing of the new model has already been commenced. It will be better in feature quotient and will grow in size to compete well against the Maruti Swift. The hatchback could also receive a new set of engines.
