Renault will launch the heavily upgraded version of the existing Duster SUV in India

Renault has started testing the updated version of the Duster SUV on Indian roads. According to the AutoCarIndia, the new Renault Duster will be launched in India around April 2020. It was speculated that Renault will launch the new-gen Duster SUV that is already on sale in international markets. However, the report claims that the company will launch the heavily upgraded version of the existing Duster. This model will meet the BS-VI emission norms and the upcoming pedestrian protection safety standards.

The 2020 Renault Duster will have a higher bonnet to create space between the bonnet lid and engine components underneath. This makeover will help the new Duster to meet the pedestrian safety standards. The new Duster SUV will also receive new bumpers and a revised grille. The spy images reveal that the headlamp unit will be upgraded with LED daytime running lights.

Before launching the 2020 Duster, the French automaker will introduce rear parking sensors, seatbelt alert and speed alert in the existing Duster to meet the new crash test norms.

The new Renault Duster will be available with the existing 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines. These engines will be upgraded to meet the BS-VI emission norms. The company will only upgrade the 110bhp version of the diesel engine, while the lower-spec 85bhp unit will be discontinued. Transmission options are likely to include a 6-speed manual for diesel and a 5-speed manual for petrol. While the diesel model will come with AMT unit, the petrol version will get the CVT automatic option. Also See – Renault to launch RBC MPV in India
