New Renault Dacia (Renault Duster) Gets 4 Stars In Latin NCAP Crash Test

The new Renault Dacia (Renault Duster) has scored a commendable four stars in the latest Latin NCAP (New Car Assessment Programme) crash test. The compact SUV achieved four stars for adult occupant protection and three stars for child occupant protection. The standard safety kit of the new Renault Dacia (Renault Duster) includes dual front airbags, ISOFIX anchorages, seatbelt reminders for both front seats and ESC (electronic stability control).

In the frontal crash test, the vehicle failed to withstand further loadings. In fact, the new Renault Duster got relevant intrusion in the side impact test. Therefore, its structure was rated as unstable. During the crash, the head of both child dummies contacted with the interior of the vehicle that increases the probability of injuries.

The new-generation Renault Duster will arrive in India sometime in 2023. The European version of the compact SUV could be offered with electric engine along with an all-new interior and significantly revised exterior.

In July 2019, Renault India rolled out the Duster facelift with 25 new features priced from Rs 7.99 lakh to Rs 12.49 lakh (ex-showroom). While the engine mechanism of the SUV remains unchanged, it gets minor cosmetic and feature upgrades.
